Bucket Star Screens

All Bucket Star Screens are cut using a CNC milling machine, no longer are the days of hand drilling 100's of holes in the bottom of a bucket to use for sorting rolled stars.

Yes, it is possible to buy your own buckets and manually drill the holes yourself, but with hand drilling the larger sizes the holes aren't always round or the bucket bottom gets deformed from the pressure of drilling before the bit starts to cut.  Small holes can be drilled by hand, but the smaller the hole size, the more holes there are that need to be drilled and making a drilling pattern is tedious and time consuming.

This is where CNC comes in,  All holes are cut or drilled with end mill bits so the the hole is being cut from the end or side of the bit instead of a single point as a drill bit does.

CNC cut buckets also offer the ability to maximize the number of holes that are possible in the bottom of an average bucket.  Try fitting or even drilling 2500 1/8" holes in a bucket by hand.

We offer 20 different sizes from 1/8" to 1 1/8" with 3" inside side walls.  Metric is available upon request.

All star size buckets are made from new HDPE buckets, currently only one color is available, Green, once other colors are available, specific colors will be used for different star size increments.

Defects and Rejected Screens.
Just like any other machining operation, we also suffer from screens that have machining defects in them.  The defect is usually caused by an excessively dull bit, resulting in either a slightly out of round hole or several small cracks between holes or a few holes not drilled all the way through.  We visually inspect each and every screen several times while processing the buckets to ensure that there are no errors in them.  On the occasion that we do get defects, if they don't have an excessive amount of damage, we finish the processing on them and keep them as free add-ins with other orders or at a 50% discount.  The screens are stamped with a D next to the size stamp to indicate that they are defects.    If you are trying to save money and don't mind a couple of minor cracks, please contact us for prices and to see what we have on hand for defects.
